Visa details
The D12 multiple-entry visa, also known as the Pre-Investment Visa, is specifically designed for investors and entrepreneurs who are planning business activities in Indonesia.
The visa allows you to enter the country for exploratory business purposes: conducting market research, meeting partners, and assessing investment opportunities. At the same time, travelling around the country on this type of visa is not prohibited by law.
The key difference between the D12 visa and the D1 tourist visa is the longer period of continuous stay allowed in the country: 180 days compared to 60 days on a D1 visa.
- How it is issued. The visa is issued online via the official government website. It is provided as a PDF document which must be printed or saved on your phone and presented at the border.
- Validity period. The visa can be issued for 1 or 2 years. You must enter the country within 90 days from the date of issue; otherwise, the visa will be cancelled.
- Number of entries. The visa is multiple-entry and does not limit the holder in the number of entries and exits during its validity. Each new entry gives you a new 180-day period of stay.
- Length of stay. Every 180 days you must either leave and re-enter, or extend your current stay for another 180 days (up to a maximum of 1 year without leaving the country).
- Conversion. This type of visa can be converted into a KITAS without leaving Indonesia.
❗️The visa can only be issued before entering the country. If you are already in Bali on a regular VOA visa, you will need to leave Indonesia to apply for a D12 visa.
❗️This visa type does not give the right to work as an employee of an Indonesian company, receive a salary or other remuneration from local legal entities.
