K-ETA for visa-free travel to South Korea

If you are traveling to South Korea for tourism purpose for up to 60 days, you do not need a visa. Citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan can enter visa-free with an electronic K-ETA. The permit entitles Russians to stay in Korea for up to 90 days per six-month period (but not more than 60 days for a single stay). Kazakhstan citizens can stay for up to 30 days (but not more than 90 days per six-month period).

You must apply for a K-ETA at least 72 hours before your flight to South Korea. This document must be presented at boarding. You can complete the application form yourself. It is necessary to register in the system, provide passport details, answer the questions of the immigration service, pay the state fee and wait for the decision of the authorities.

❗️ Many Russian applicants have had problems paying the fee for well-known reasons: Russian bank cards are not accepted. There are also many cases of delayed decisions (more than a week) and refusals for no apparent reason.

❗️K-ETA is not an electronic visa, it is an entry permit. It does not guarantee that you will be allowed to enter the country. The final decision is always up to the immigration officers.

❗️Attention citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. As there is no visa-free regime between your countries and South Korea, K-ETA is not available to you. Please apply for a visa at the nearest Korean consulate.
